Breaking News: Attack on Two Hong Kong Morning News Senior Management

According to Now TV’s live broadcast, at around 1pm today, two senior management of Hong Kong Morning News, a newspaper to be launched in Hong Kong, were attacked outside the Space Museum in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The police have issued an arrest order for four suspects. Both victims had been sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

According to the television footage, it is believed that the two victims of this attack are Lam Kin-ming and Li Yuen-han, two senior management of Hong Kong Morning News, the launch day of the paper is yet to be confirmed. (According to Now TV’s report, the suspects attacked Lam and Li with metal bars)

This is the second attack on senior figures at media groups – 21 days after Kevin Lau Chun-to, former Editor in Chief at Ming Pao Daily. This attack would likely to heighten Hongkongers’ concerns on Hong Kong’s press freedom.
