Police Bid Their Time to Arrest Citizen Who Supports Dockworkers’ Strike
Wong Chi-keung who supported the dockworkers’ strike months ago was arrested by the police at 9am this morning (24th July). Wong said that the police is accusing him for attacking a security guard at the Kwai Chung Cargo Terminal during a protest at 2pm on 29th March.
Wong is a resident at Ping Yeung San Tsuen in Fanling. Au Kwok-kuen, a member of the Land Justice League, is assisting Wong in the case. Au said that this is a clear political prosecution. Wong is currently at the Tsing Yi police station, a lawyer is on-site to assist him. Au said that besides supporting the dockworkers at the strike, Wong is an active member of the anti-North East New Territories Development plan who participated many relevant protests and rallies and was interviewed by the media.
