Chinese Woman Lying Down at Immigration Office Demand HK Residence for Her Anchor Baby
The mother of an anchor baby who came from Fujian tried to come to Hong Kong on 22nd June when she was heavily pregnant and claimed to be only seven months pregnant. The Immigration Department refused her entrance. Her second attempt later on was also blocked by the immigration. On 24th June, her contraction started during her another attempt to pass the immigration at Lo Wo. She was sent to the Price of Wales Hospital immediate and gave birth to a baby girl.
She later on tried to apply the birth certificate for her daughter (which would grant her daughter Hong Kong citizenship and permanent residency) but her application was rejected. The Immigration Department then arrested her for making false declarations, and she was released on bail.
This morning, this woman went to the Immigration Office located at Skyline Tower in Kowloon Bay with her daughter, and threatened that if her daughter does not get Hong Kong birth certificate, she will leave the baby in the Immigration Office and lied down on the floor as protest. She is currently confronting the immigration officers and police.
